When the vehicle is viewed in profile, it’s the new side mirrors with direction indicators as well as the long wheelbase that catch the eye immediately. With its muscular wheel housings and a powerful, solid stance, the rear offers a marked contrast to the dynamic front. The view is characterised primarily by the L-shaped rear lights, striking tailpipe finishers and additional horizontal chrome trims. Particularly when the softtop is open, the message is clear, even from a distance: This is the most exclusive convertible of all BMW models.

Adaptive LED headlights with integrated low-beam and high-beam functions automatically adjust the light distribution to suit the driving speed, thereby dynamically illuminating the road ahead. In addition to indicators and daytime running lights, it includes the Adaptive headlight function with variable city and motorway light distribution, cornering lights, as well as BMW Selective Beam (anti-dazzle High-beam assistant), which automatically switches between the low and high-beam lights. That allows the system to offer optimal road illumination under all conditions.

In the dark, the moveable headlights allow the driver to see far into curves as soon as the wheel is turned. To improve short-range visibility, the cornering lights are automatically activated as soon as the turn indicator is switched on or the steering wheel is turned – even when the vehicle is at a standstill. The Adaptive headlights ensure optimal illumination of nearby surroundings, thereby significantly increasing active safety.

BMW Selective Beam allows the driver to leave the high-beams on constantly, facilitating optimal visual conditions at night. The system monitors the presence of vehicles in front or oncoming traffic and adjusts the high-beam lights to avoid dazzling other road users.

The 20″ light alloy wheels Multi-spoke style 616 with mixed tyres and runflat properties are a sporty highlight. And not just optically − thanks to their excellent stability and low weight, they ensure noticeably improved handling. The intricate pattern consisting of thick and thin spokes also guarantees an optimal air supply to the brake system.

The completely automatic softtop features outstanding acoustic and thermal insulation. It lends the convertible a coupé-like silhouette, and the ability to lower its rear window provides excellent airflow through the interior.

For even more fresh air, the softtop folds back at the push of a button into a box in the luggage compartment. Even when driving at speeds of up to 40 km/h, it can be opened in 19 seconds and closed in 24 seconds at the touch of a button.

Even with a closed softtop, passengers in the convertible can enjoy a refreshing open-air driving experience: all five windows can be lowered at the same time while the softtop remains closed, to protect against direct sunlight, for example.

The elegant, sporty exterior design continues seamlessly on the inside of the BMW 6 Series Convertible. In the Design Pure Experience package, soft, exclusive ‘Nappa’ leather with extended contents in Cognac/Black, fine-wood trims in ‘Fineline’ brown and generously dimensioned surfaces harmonise to create a spacious, distinguished interior.

Important driving-related information is provided by the high-resolution, free-standing Control Display with glass casing and galvanised surround. The centre console with Black Panel look as well as ceramic embellishers for the iDrive Touch Controller and gear selector add a premium touch to the ambience. Functional compartments and drinks holders at the front and in the centre armrest at the rear offer numerous storage possibilities.
